All are welcome to the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. at Westwood City Hall. It will be held completely outdoors, so dress appropriately. The WV Choir will lead us in song, then Mayor Waters will make a short address and flip the switch, and we will finish with everyone singing together. S’mores and cocoa provided afterward.

No school until Monday, December 1 for Thanksgiving break.

Wondering how to stop eating all your kids' leftover Halloween candy? Please drop off any extra candy in the front office.  We are collecting candy to set out for the teachers throughout the year when they need a quick sweet treat!  

The parade will begin at 2:00 pm (playground gates open at 1:50) and classroom parties will be at 2:15 pm.

Each family is asked to bring two 2-liter soda bottles or 1-2 packages of sweets for the Cake Walk. These can be dropped in the school office October 19-24.

Build our COMMUNITY CHEST by bringing school snacks to the carnival to be given to our sister school.

Wear your favorite costume for the first skate party of the year! We will have the rink to ourselves! $7 admission +$2 skate rental (if needed).

Walk, bike or roll to school today! Donuts (and a few allergy friendly options) will be available on the playground at 7:50am to enjoy after walking or biking to school.

Parents are asked to stay on premises until your child enters the school.

Plan to arrive at 6:30 and get settled into your parking spot. You can sit in the back of your car for the movie with blankets & pillows or set up chairs to gather with friends. Before the movie starts, your kids can play on the playground, toss a football or run around with their friends. At 7:30, the dance party begins and at 8:00, the movie Dogman.

Curriculum Night (formerly Back to School Night) is where your child’s teacher will share important information about curriculum, schedules, and plans for the year. Parents and guardians only. 1st-3rd is from 5:00-6:00pm and 4th-6th is from 6:00-7:00pm. You will also be able to purchase spirit wear, sign up for a PTA membership and for clubs.

Kindergarten parents are invited to a Boohoo Breakfast after drop-off on the first day. You will be able to walk your kindergartener to their classroom and then will go to the library for a light breakfast, coffee and to meet other parents.

Dismissal at 12:30pm for the first day of school.

Drop your child off for the first day of the 2023-24 school year and grab a coffee with other parents in front of the school!

Join us for a cup of coffee after dropping your child off on the first day of the 2025-26 school year! The coffee cart will be located on the library patio if weather permits (otherwise, in the teacher’s lounge).

All WV families are invited to the school to meet the teachers, drop off school supplies, see the classrooms and enjoy some ice cream. You will also be able to sign up for PTA, buy Westwood View shirts for the whole family, and purchase yearbooks as well.
